Peptide COA Verification

Every peptide vendor in Canada claims purity. Almost none of those claims can be independently checked. The four steps below work against any supplier’s certificate — including ours. We can afford to publish this checklist because we pass it; use it on everyone.

    Match the lot code on the vial to the certificate

    A certificate without a lot code match proves nothing about your vial. The code printed on the label must appear on the certificate itself — not just on the product page. If a vendor publishes one undated “example COA” for a product, that is a brochure, not verification.

    Open the certificate on the laboratory’s own portal

    A PDF or image can be edited. The test is whether the issuing lab hosts the same result on its own database — Janoshik Analytical, for example, runs a public verification portal where any test can be looked up by its code. A certificate that exists only on the vendor’s server is a weaker claim by definition.

    Look for measured content, not just purity

    Purity says what fraction of the material is the target compound; it says nothing about how much material is in the vial. A 99.8% pure vial can be 30% underfilled. A complete certificate reports the measured mass against the label. Most vendors omit this number — ask why.

    Check the test date against the batch

    The test date should sit shortly after the production date and before the sale. A certificate dated long before the batch it supposedly covers, or reused across multiple batches, is one of the classic red flags — our guide to spotting fakes covers the full list.

What is a certificate of analysis (COA)?
A document issued by an analytical laboratory reporting what a specific production lot actually contains: identity (mass spectrometry), purity (HPLC), and ideally the measured quantity against the label. It is per-lot — a COA for last year’s batch says nothing about this year’s.
How do I verify an Eppix Labs batch?
Enter the lot code from your vial in the batch verifier, or find it in the COA library. Every published lot page carries the analytical figures and a link to the issuing laboratory’s own verification record, so the numbers can be checked outside our website.
Can a COA be faked?
A PDF can. That is why the load-bearing step is checking the result on the laboratory’s own portal rather than trusting the vendor-hosted copy — and why a vendor whose certificates cannot be looked up independently deserves skepticism regardless of what the numbers say.
